Erik Kling Art Studio operates as a platform for the development of large-scale abstract works structured around space, scale, and perception. The practice focuses on the creation of paintings that function not as decorative objects, but as spatial anchors within architectural environments.

Kling’s work is developed through a system-based approach, where material, composition, and scale are treated as interconnected elements. Working primarily with enamel-based media on large-format canvases, he constructs surfaces that engage tension, movement, and presence, allowing each piece to interact directly with its surrounding space.

His works have been integrated into commercial and hospitality environments, including a permanent installation within a German Raumstudio headquarters and a placement at the W Hotel in Dubai. These contexts reflect the intended role of the work — to operate within architecture rather than exist independently from it.

The practice is informed by a global working process, with works developed across multiple geographies. Rather than serving as narrative references, these environments contribute to the material and structural evolution of the work, influencing color, surface, and spatial composition.

Alongside his core oil and enamel works, Kling is developing structured bodies of work that explore different material and conceptual layers, including large-scale architectural pieces and series-based systems designed for curatorial and spatial integration.
